Contract Awarded for Corrosion Remediation at Karara Mining Facility

We are pleased to announce that Altrad Services has been awarded the Corrosion Remediation Services contract by Karara Mining Limited at their Karara mine site in the Midwest region of Western Australia.

Karara Mining Limited was established in 2007 by joint venture between China’s Ansteel Group – the Anshan Iron and Steel Group Corporation (52.16%) and Australian listed mining and investment company Gindalbie Metals Limited (47.84%) – to develop and operate the Karara Iron Ore Project. Ansteel is the largest iron ore miner in China. Ansteel now wholly owns Karara Mining Limited.

Karara is the largest mining operation and the first major magnetite mine in the Mid-West.

This award is the result of an approach focused on understanding our client needs and working collaboratively to achieve the best outcome in terms of safety, value, price and quality.

It highlights Altrad Services leading expertise in Asset Integrity and Fabrication Maintenance including corrosion protect and remediation.

With a collaborative and partnering approach, Altrad Services will work on building a long-term relationship with this new customer.

“As a business we are excited about developing and growing a relationship with Karara as a key client in this sector. We believe that our track record in turnkey corrosion management, safety, operational performance and innovation were key elements in our success in securing this contract and we are eager to deliver on this to Karara” said Jonathon Hall our Regional Manager – West Australia.
