At the Venice Architecture Biennale, Generation (and Island) awarded special mention for the coveted Golden Lion Award
Generation UK is thrilled to share the news that Island at the British Pavilion in Venice has been honoured with a special mention for the coveted Golden Lion Award for Best National Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale. Only two countries out of the 71 that have national pavilions are awarded; this year they were scooped by Switzerland and Great Britain.
Generation UK is honoured to have provided all of the Futuro system scaffolding equipment for this outstanding project. On the opening week alone, Island received 29,077 visitors to the pavilion.
Sarah Mann, Commissioner of the British Pavilion, commented: “I wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to Generation and the Altrad sister companies for their tremendous support for the British Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale. It really wouldn’t have happened without them. We are completely bowled over by the beauty and elegance of the scaffolding and the generosity and expertise they brought to the project.”
To make this project a success Generation UK also had the help of other Altrad Group Companies. Altrad DESSA designed the plans for the Futuro to be erected, Altrad Germany made the equipment and Altrad Italia made the whole project possible by helping with logistics.
