An Unprecedented Encounter of Sport and Architecture

As part of the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games, the “Archi-Folies 2024” exhibition was born, sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and its partners. Specifically, this involves 20 projects conceived by each of the 20 French architecture schools, in collaboration with 20 sports federations, to set up 20 pavilions built on the meadow of La Villette Park in Paris.

These ephemeral structures (which are intended to be permanently installed in various locations or to be recycled) were designed by architecture students and built on-site, to be then opened to the public, with free access, from June 14 to July 7, and then from August 28 to September 3. During the Olympic Games, these structures will become the pavilions of 20 sports federations at the “Club France” site.

The ALTRAD Group, through its subsidiary ALTRAD Arnholdt, collaborated with ENSAM (Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Montpellier) to design and build the pavilion for the Skateboarding Federation. This ambitious project enabled a collaborative effort between our teams and the school's students: the final structure is extremely impressive; it was chosen to "open" the visitor route.

A big congratulations to the ALTRAD Arnholdt teams for their dedication, particularly to Fabrice Quéneudec, Miguel Puga, and Yavuz Sisik.
