Altrad Group Sustainability – Rugby Initiative – Altrad Mostostal - Poland

Building on the Altrad Group’s rich heritage and association with the Rugby community, and as part of the Group’s Sustainability Program in line with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the focus on “Quality Education”, we are delighted to announce the “Altrad Community Rugby Project” which will support children from under privileged backgrounds and rural communities within the Siedlce region in eastern Poland.

This program will support over 470 children from 20 schools using discipline, focus and enjoyment of Rugby and Sport, as an educational tool to counter the negative aspects of drugs, alcohol and violence that are prevalent in the community. In addition the boys and girls will be supported by a clear focus on how to enhance their lives and to take a positive path of identity, health, education, creativity and friendship and break the negative cycle that clearly exists in the local communities.

Part of the programme is also to broaden the children’s horizons and give them a broader appreciation of the wider world, with some of them never leaving their home village or seeing the sea or a mountain range. This will involve travelling to Rugby tournaments, sightseeing opportunities, cinema visits etc whilst also mixing with other children from different areas and communities

Dorota Jaszczuk the Commercial Director for Altrad Mostostal and initiative proposer commented

“This is a fantastic opportunity to do something positive for our local community and focus on supporting the young children who face really tough challenges in life. I am very grateful that Altrad have chosen to support this important initiative which will have a huge positive impact not only on our community, but also on the next generation of potential Altrad employees, giving the children a real chance for a better tomorrow".

Altrad Group Joint CEO Ran Oren Commented

“We are delighted to support Altrad Mostostal and the children of the local community with this fantastic initiative. Sport is a great tool to engage young people and act as a catalyst for change and I look forward to seeing the positive impact of our collective support”.
