World Environment Day (WED) takes place every year on 5 June.

The theme for World Environment Day 2020 is 'Time for Nature’, a concern that is both urgent and existential.

The WED is widely celebrated in more than 143 countries for encouraging awareness and action to protect our environment.

Our world is changing faster than we could have ever imagined and the COVID-19 crisis is highlighting its interconnectedness.

It is forcing us to acknowledge the immediate need to better prepare ourselves as a healthy planet remains fundamental to make the world healthier and more sustainable.
